James Hogarth Pringle (born 1863 in Parramatta, Australia - died 1941) was a surgeon. He was born to George Hogarth Pringle a well known surgeon in Sydney, Australia.
Pringle graduated as a doctor in 1885 from Edinburgh University, Scotland. After working throughout Europe, he returned to work with William Macewen in Glasgow, Scotland. From 1896 to 1923 he worked in the Glasgow Royal Infirmary.
Pringle is known for the Pringle manoeuvre, a surgical manoeuvre used in abdominal operations.
